AAA Editor Notes
Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, at 210 Columbia Point on the University of Massachusetts Boston campus, conveys the history and processes of the legislative body through high-tech exhibits and multimedia displays. Handheld digital devices guide you through a series of galleries and also provide opportunities for interactive experiences with other visitors.
Simulated debates and voting sessions take place in a full-scale replica of the U.S. Senate Chamber. Ted Kennedy's office also has been re-created at the institute; it, along with a reception area, features furnishings, photos and other relics documenting the career of the charismatic liberal, who represented Massachusetts in the Senate for nearly 47 years.
OPENING NOTE: The institute is opening to the public on March 31.
Food is available.
