Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, on Columbia Point on the University of Massachusetts Boston campus, conveys the history and processes of the legislative body through high-tech exhibits and multimedia displays. Handheld digital devices guide you through a series of galleries and also provide opportunities for interactive experiences with other visitors. Simulated debates and voting sessions take place in a full-scale replica of the U.S. Senate Chamber. Ted Kennedy's office also has been re-created at the institute; it, along with a reception area, features furnishings, photos and other relics documenting the career of the charismatic liberal, who represented Massachusetts in the Senate for nearly 47 years. Food is available.
