AAA Inspector Notes
Built in 1893 as Boston's first skyscraper this architectural gem's design strikes the perfect balance among modernity, the retention of historic elements, and high quality accommodations. The interior design is strictly contemporary using a monochromatic color scheme with small pops of color sprinkled for an effective dramatic effect. Guests may luxuriate in the high thread-count bedding, an oversized HDTV and spacious showers with a formidable rain showerhead. These modern glass-enclosed showers will allow a view of the TV by opening the curtain. Centrally located between Faneuil Hall, The North End and the Financial District; and, guests can access a direct route to Logan Internatioral via Orange Line at State Street 'T' Stop. Smoke free premises. 114 units. 14 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: The room was spacious and clean. Nice wooden floor. Good bed.
Cons: The entry of hotel and the interior of the beakfast room are poor. Our room on the 15th floor had very small windows and no view. Business center was closed. staff was friendly but not very accurate and alert. To expensive for what it was .

Pros: Checking out
Cons: The hotel was under construction yes they failed to mention that at the booking and all while charging premium price for their very noisy uninhabitable rooms. It was my second time at the Ames (both horrible experiences lacking sleep and peace each time) but certainly my last. They did not even have room service or bellman to help with luggage! What are you paying for?!

Pros: Very luxurious and well located in the heart of the city
Cons: A little expensive but most of the hotels seem to be in Boston compared to similar hotels in New York
