Inspector Pick (Classification): Approaching its 90th year, I favor this Boston Landmark because of it's rich history blended with a new modern design.
The extensive renovations throughout this historic 1927 grande dame have resulted in marvelous historic details and Millennial-design sensibilities. A palatial mixed-use lobby boasts a bevy of comfy seating nooks and an excellent bistro and bar. The guest rooms are cozy-chic and with bedding to complement the space. Smoke free premises. 1060 units. 15 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Here is a copy of my yelp review:Absolutely TERRIBLE service! I never ever leave a bad review, this is my first. I had to create this yelp account just to leave a review on how AWFUL the service is. We booked our reservation two weeks ahead of our planned stay and paid all fees online (or so we thought). We planned to spend the night here because we were in town for a concert that was very close by and would be easy to walk to and from if we had a few drinks. We arrived to the hotel around 5-5:30 PM to check in, leaving plenty of time to arrive at the concert for 6:30. Our garage is about a 7 minute walk from the hotel which isn't bad, unless it's 18 degrees outside. We finally find the reception desk to check in and are greeted by a woman who seems new but very friendly. Upon checking in, she's asks for ID and the card the reservation was booked with. We give her the cards and she proceeds to swipe our card and tells us the card was declined. We inform her that we have already paid when we booked the reservation. She tells us she needs to place another $75 charge to that card for damages. The card that we used is a card that we use specifically for making online purchases or things similar that we do not want to use our primary account for. So typically we would, ahead of time, add money to this card or transfer from our primary account when we know we will be using it. We had brought $100 in cash for the concert because many times it will be cash only, so we ask if we can pay the fee in cash, and we are told no it must be done with the card. We had no other cards with us since we were going to the concert and didn't want to risk losing anything (especially close to the holidays which has happened before). So we head back outside and find an ATM to load our cash onto the card. We add the $75 to the card that she stated she needed to charge, and now walk all the way back over to the hotel. Mind you it is 18 degrees outside and we are still carrying our luggage. We get back to the hotel and give her the card again. She tries and says it's been declined again. We check the balance from our phone and see the $75.00 in the account. So she tries again, still declined. At this point our concert is starting in 30 minutes and we no longer have time to go back and forth. She tells us we can try again afterwards. So we leave and bring our luggage all the way back to our parking garage and drop it off and now have to rush back over to the concert that is past the hotel so we can get in line. We end up stuck with just $25 for the concert because we don't want to mess up the card when we go back to try again. After the concert is finished we go back to Park plaza first since it's on our way to the garage. Still declined. At this point it is now 11:30PM and we live about an hour and a half from the hotel so we decide we should just go home because this wasn't working and it was just getting later and later. We ask if there is any way we can get a refund since we are apparently not able to spend the night without getting this card to work. We are told no we need to call the party we booked the reservation through. We didn't end up getting home until 1:30 in the morning. Now today I've called AAA, who I booked through, who then connected me to Priceline. After explaining in detail what happened and many call backs and back and forth with them calling park plaza, we are being told we will NOT receiving a refund. The reason: We never showed up! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! We attempted so many times to check in, walking all around Boston, adding money to the card, leaving ourselves with basically no money for the evening, having to travel an hour and a half home, and they say we didn't even show up! So infuriating! I will absolutely never in my life book through AAA, Priceline, or Park plaza hotel! You book with a big company at a reputable hotel and when something goes wrong on their end, no one can help you! Absolutely hands down the WORST experience from all companies.

Pros: Staff was very accommodating and more than happy to upgrade us to a more comfortable room when we asked. Also very helpful in finding good food places in the area. .

No. No no no. Supposed to be a 4 star hotel. Overall, clean. But what you get in exchange for a AAA rate is a TINY room. Which I can deal with. But with a tiny-er bathroom. A shower that I could barely wash my feet in while standing. I'm 5.2 and not a big person. I shouldn't have to deal with the shower curtain latching on to my wet leg because it was such a small shower stall while trying to clean myself. Not cool. Add in what looked like peeling paint in the shower area. I was scared paint would fall from the ceiling and blind me.
Pros: Location. Easy walking distance to Back Bay, Downtown, Beacon Hill, etc.
Cons: TINY bathroom.
