John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site, 83 Beals St., preserves the birthplace and boyhood home of the 35th president of the United States. The house, restored to its 1917 appearance by family matriarch Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1967, contains original furnishings and family memorabilia. Note: Guided tour tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and tour space is very limited. Guided tours are available.

Hours: Guided tours depart every half-hour Wed.-Sun. 10-11:30 and 1-3:30, late May-Oct. 31; by appointment rest of year. Self-guiding audio tours (offered in several languages) are available Wed.-Sun. noon-1 and 4-5, late May-Oct. 31. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
