This classic, white-shingled 1850 inn boasts exquisite antiques and reproductions and has the feel of a nautical captain's home. Luxurious perks include robes, slippers and 600 thread-count bedding. The gourmet three-course breakfast is prepared by a classically trained chef who worked in patisseries in France. Therefore, you can expect a memorable breakfast along with remarkable pastries served with tea each afternoon. Guests can choose to have breakfast anytime between 8 and 10 each morning. The innkeepers roast their own coffee and serve guests at individual tables that are formally dressed with table cloths. Rooms in the carriage house have working fireplaces and separate entrances. A couple of rooms on the main house share a large balcony. All rooms feature Ethan Allen beds with plush mattresses. Umbrellas, beach towels and coolers may be borrowed and board games and books are available to enjoy by the fire in the formal parlor or in the back garden, which features Adirondack chairs.
