The Wayside is at 455 Lexington Rd. in Minute Man National Historical Park. This was the home of Samuel Whitney, the muster master, or roll caller, of the Concord Minutemen, and later the home of the Bronson Alcott family, the Nathaniel Hawthorne family and Margaret Sidney, an author of children's books during the late 19th century. The home can be visited on guided 40-minute tours. Guided tours are available.
$7; $5 (senior citizens and students with ID); free (ages 0-16). Reservations are recommended.
Hours: Tours depart Mon. and Fri.-Sat. 9:30-5:30, Sun. 11:30-5:30, mid-June to mid-Aug.; Mon. and Fri. 9:30-5:30, Sun. 11:30-5:30, mid-Aug. through Oct. 31. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
