The town square is home to this country inn, and its original 1716 section is on the National Register of Historic Places. Henry David Thoreau once resided here. The inn also served as our nation's first war hospital. Guests will be pleased with the modern decor in the rooms. The bathrooms may be compact but the decor is upscale. 56 units, some two bedrooms, efficiencies and kitchens. 3 stories (no elevator), interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Room was very clean.
Cons: The heat is not controllable: We had to prop a window open, but we were still to warm.The bed was a bit to skwishy, making it hard to turn over.

So charming, loved the decor,
Pros: It had a lot of history, excellent location, great staff and fabulous food.
Cons: Only thing missing was a hair dryer
