Bryant Homestead is at 207 Bryant Rd. Overlooking the Westfield River Valley, this country estate was the childhood home and summer residence of William Cullen Bryant, poet, abolitionist and the editor in chief of the New York Evening Post 1829-78. The historic house displays some of his personal effects, and on a guided tour you'll learn about his life. A hiking trail lets you explore the woods that inspired his early nature poetry.
