AAA Editor Notes
Alden House Historic Site, 105 Alden St., was the last home of Mayflower Pilgrim John Alden. Built in the mid-1600s, the original two-room house was expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries and was occupied by the Alden family until 1920. Some of its interesting features are the powdered clam-and-oyster-shell ceiling in the “great” room and the gunstock posts found in the chambers.

$8; $5 (ages 3-17).
Wed.-Sat. noon-4, early June-early Oct.; Sat. noon-4, early to late Oct.; by appointment rest of year. Last admission 30 minutes before closing. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
