AAA Inspector Notes
Historic. This colonial restaurant, where Generals Washington and Lafayette and Ben Franklin were once guests, was built in 1784 and functioned as a tavern in the early 1800s. Now it is a place to rest and enjoy family and friends in a casual dining atmosphere. Start with oysters Lafayette which are baked with mushrooms, spinach and minced shrimp béchemel sauce topped with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese. Then try the tender English cut prime rib served with oven-roasted potatoes and green beans.
