Whipple House Museum is at 1 S. Village Green (SR 1A). Begun in 1677, this timber-frame house was the sumptuous home of a successful Puritan family. The museum contains Colonial furnishings and decorative arts. The housewife's garden in front is planted with herbs known to have been used in the colony in the 17th century. Guided tours are available.
$10; $5 (ages 13-18). Combination ticket with Heard House Museum $15; $7.50 (ages 13-18).
Hours: Guided tours are given on the hour Thurs.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-4, late May to mid-Oct. Last tour begins 1 hour before closing.
