Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio is 1 mi. s. on SR 183, .3 mi. s. on Old Stockbridge Rd., then .8 mi. w. to 92 Hawthorne St. The former home of American abstract artists Suzy Frelinghuysen and George L.K. Morris, this Bauhaus-inspired building features paintings by Georges Braque, Juan Gris, Fernand Léger and Pablo Picasso as well as American Cubist art and original Art Deco furnishings. On the 46-acre wooded grounds are nature trails and the sculpture “The Mountain” by French artist Gaston Lachaise. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Tour $15; $14 (ages 65+); $7.50 (students with ID); free (ages 0-11). Grounds only $7.50; free (ages 0-11).
Hours: Guided 1-hour tours are given Thurs.-Sun. 10-3, late June-Labor Day; Thurs.-Sat. 10-3, day after Labor Day-Columbus Day.
