AAA Editor Notes
Fort Sewall, at the n.e. end of Front St., offers views of Marblehead and its harbor as well as Cape Ann and the Atlantic Ocean. Manned during conflicts through the Spanish-American War, the current structure dates from the 1800s and was constructed on the site of the original fort, built in 1644 and enlarged in 1742.
