AAA Editor Notes

St. Michael's Church, 26 Pleasant St., was built in 1714 and remodeled in 1833 in Gothic Revival style. One of the oldest Episcopal churches in America, it still has an original, elaborate brass chandelier from England. The bell, rung at the news of the Declaration of Independence until it cracked, was recast by Paul Revere and is still used. Guided tours are available.
Free. Reservations are required for guided tours.
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8:30-12:30.
