The Bidwell House Museum is n. on Tyringham Rd. from SR 23, then 1 mi. w. to 100 Art School Rd. The 1760s Georgian saltbox is set on 190 acres of woodlands and gardens. Built for the first minister of Monterey, it contains 18th- and early 19th-century furniture and decorative arts. Historic woodland trails and summer programs are available. Guided tours are available.
$10; $8 (ages 62+); $5 (students with ID); free (ages 0-6).
Hours: Tours depart Thurs.-Mon. on the hour 11-4, Memorial Day weekend-Columbus Day. Last tour begins 1 hour before closing. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
