Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum is at 49 Union St. Historical and contemporary lightship baskets are exhibited, along with a display detailing how the baskets are made. A large portion of 20th-century basket maker Jose Formoso Reyes' workshop also is on-site.
In addition the facility offers demonstrations by basket weavers as well as lectures given by historians and restoration experts. The surrounding 1820 Garden features plants that were commonly found in Nantucket in the early 1800s.
