Smith College Museum of Art is in the Brown Fine Arts Center at jct. Elm St. and Bedford Terr. on the Smith College campus. Set within a tranquil atmosphere, the museum features many galleries that house a diverse collection of 19th- and early 20th-century American and European paintings. The works of Cezanne, Monet and Picasso are included. Drawings, dramatic sculptures, contemporary pieces created by women, ancient cultural artifacts and changing exhibits also are offered. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$5; $4 (ages 65+); $3 (students with ID); $2 (ages 6-12); free (ages 0-5, college students with ID and to all second Fri. of the month 4-8 p.m.).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-4 (also second Fri. of the month 4-8), Sun. noon-4. Closed major holidays.
