Smith College Museum of Art is in the Brown Fine Arts Center at jct. Elm St. and Bedford Terr. on the Smith College campus. Set within a tranquil atmosphere, the museum features a 25,000-piece collection of objects from a variety of cultures and periods and includes antiquities, decorative arts, paintings and sculptures as well as contemporary African, Asian and Islamic art. The Cunningham Center for the Study of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs houses SCMA's 20,000 works on paper. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$5; $4 (ages 65+); $3 (students with ID); $2 (ages 6-12); free (ages 0-5, college students with ID and to all second Fri. of the month 4-8 p.m.).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-4 (also second Fri. of the month 4-8), Sun. noon-4. Closed major holidays.
