South Shore Natural Science Center is at 48 Jacobs Ln. Nature enthusiasts may explore various trails at a leisurely pace, from the shortest trail at 15 minutes to the longest trail at 50 minutes. The Jacobs Pond area has two trails; some of the wildlife that can be seen include turtles, waterfowl and songbirds. Herb and wildflower gardens also are on-site, as is the EcoZone Museum, an interactive exhibit area depicting the ecosystems of southeastern Massachusetts. Picnicking is permitted in designated areas. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Trails free. Science center and EcoZone $7; $5 (ages 60+); $3 (ages 2-15).
