AAA Inspector Notes
Classic. Slow-roasted prime rib and fresh local seafood reign supreme in the restored Colonial tavern's charming, rustic dining room, which is adjacent to a peaceful duck pond. Request a table by the window for a view of the waterfall and historic circa 1745 mill (a pre-Revolutionary War relic designed to grind grain raised by nearby farmers). Other favorites include stuffed mushroom caps, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, baked onion soup and lobster prepared numerous ways. All dinners include the fresh salad bar or a salad delivered to your table. Filet mignon—which, like the prime rib, comes in three sizes—joins sirloin and lamb chops among meat offerings.
