Lyman & Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History is at the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards St., on the Springfield Museums campus. On display are Indian Motocycles and memorabilia, antique Rolls-Royce automobiles, Gee Bee aircraft, Milton Bradley games, Smith & Wesson firearms, and other inventions and products from the city's industrial past. Also on-site is the Springfield History Library & Archives, which holds more than 20,000 genealogy books, a large collection of French-Canadian records, and a variety of historical documents and photographs.
Museum (includes admission to all Springfield Museums sites) $18; $12 (ages 60+ and college students with ID); $9.50 (ages 3-17). Library and archives only $9. Prices may vary.
Hours: Museum Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 11-5. Library and archives Tues.-Fri. and first Sat. of the month 11-4. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
