George Washington and was the first of two federal armories in the country. It houses one of the world's most extensive collections of historical military firearms, including the Lyle lifesaving gun. Visitors can read Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's peace poem in front of the Organ of Muskets and learn about the role of female ordnance workers.
