Springfield Science Museum is at the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards St., on the Springfield Museum campus. Featured are dinosaur and African exhibit halls, an exploration center with hands-on exhibits and a participatory investigation station. Also on-site are an aquarium, a mineral hall, Native American artifacts, interactive life-science exhibits and a planetarium. A highlight is the life-size replica of a Tyrannosaurus rex.
Museum (includes admission to all Springfield Museums sites) $18; $12 (ages 60+ and college students with ID); $9.50 (ages 3-17). Planetarium show $3; $2 (ages 3-17). Prices may vary.
Hours: Museum Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 11-5. Planetarium hours vary. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
