Chesterwood, off SR 183, 1 mi. s. of SR 102, was the studio and country residence of sculptor Daniel Chester French. Here he fashioned the Abraham Lincoln statue for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. French also created the Minute Man statue in Concord. His plaster casts, bronze models, tools, drawings, books and belongings are displayed. An outdoor sculpture show is held every summer. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
