AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Classification): I love waking up & meandering to the Bake Shoppe. The aromatic coffee & baked items will not be forgotten. But my favorite is the sweet pecan rolls.
This property consists of three lodging facilities. Complimentary coffee and delicious home-baked breads and pastries are served each morning. It's worth a visit for those alone. The Historic Inn is the main building that welcomes guests and also houses the restaurants and bake shoppe. It's rooms have a historic vibe featuring a New England-style décor with floral wall and colorful wood finishes and historic furnishings. The Country Lodge looks like a typical motel from the outside, but inside it has a residential, old-fashioned charm featuring toile-style wallpaper and traditional furnishings; these rooms are spacious. The Chamberlain House, the newly expanded and renovated building, features guest rooms and suites. These rooms blend classic and modern design with plush comforts. All guest rooms are lovely and have their own unique charms. Smoke free premises. 100 units. 2 stories (no elevator), interior/exterior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: The location was perfect for our plans--
Cons: The hotel needs a MAJOR rehab. Peeling wallpaper, mold and discoloration on the bathroom celing and caulking as well as an unemptied and odiferous trash can outside the room didn't help the ambiance. Unpleasant stay and grateful for only one night---

Please see above comments.
Pros: The history, antiques, and the grounds are lovely - bakery is wonderful and the pub food was delicious but service was slow.
Cons: Rugs. floors, and upholstery in general really need a good cleaning. I also do not like that they add a $25.00 "incidental fee" to your bill even if you haven't charged anything to your room! May need to dispute it thru my credit card.

Disappointing

Pros: The area of the state was very nice
Cons: The room floors were not vacuumed. The shower was sporadic in operation and at one point, left my wife with NO water at all. Not cold water, NO water.

Pros: The historic feel of the beautiful property! We will definitely stay there again. The breakfast, in their restaurant, is a definite must. Large portions and absolutely delicious food. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
