I like the option of a relaxed meal in the bar or more formal in the dining room; the setting and mini-pumpkin muffins are worth a return visit.
AAA Inspector Notes
Classic Historic. Visitors can take a trip back in time at this 17th-century inn, while enjoying the rustic charm and ambiance of this Colonial inn. A gristmill provides flour for homemade bread and equal attention is paid to roast prime beef, lobster pie, seafood, duck and chicken. Finish with a homemade dessert like Indian pudding. The original tavern was first used as a public gathering place in 1716. Most of the inn was lost in a fire in the 1950s and was rebuilt in 1956 with a grant from the Ford Foundation.
