Old Colony History Museum, 66 Church Green, is in a schoolhouse designed by Richard Upjohn and built in 1852. Dedicated to presenting the history of the Taunton area, it contains a collection of regional objects and archives as well as a research library specializing in local history and genealogy. Its parent organization, the Old Colony Historical Society, was founded May 4, 1853, making it one of New England’s oldest historical societies.
