Ogunquit Museum of American Art is s.e. of Perkins Cove at 543 Shore Rd. The museum showcases approximately 3,000 works of such renowned American artists as Charles Burchfield, Marsden Hartley, Robert Henri, Rockwell Kent, Walt Kuhn, Gaston Lachaise, Reginald Marsh and William Zorach.
Highlights include a comprehensive American Modernism collection featuring pieces by artists who were part of the Ogunquit Art Colony, which was established in the 1890s. Special exhibits that change two or three times during the season spotlight other nationally known American artists. The main gallery's glass wall offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Lush gardens, alluring coastline, a reflection pond, sculptures and sheltered benches allow visitors an opportunity to unwind on the 3-acre grounds.
