Cosmovitral Botanic Garden

Cosmovitral Botanic Garden (Cosmovitral Jardín Botánico) is just e. Plaza de los Mártires at calles Lerdo de Tejada, Degollado and Ignacio Rayón. Hundreds of plant species native to Mexico are exhibited within the walls of this Art Nouveau-style building. Most impressive, however, are the magnificent stained-glass panels, which replaced the original windows. They were designed and built in 1980 by local artist Leopoldo Flores, who utilized some 45 tons of glass, 65 tons of metal and 25 tons of lead in their creation.
