Woodmere Cemetery

Woodmere Cemetery is off I-75 exit 45 (Fort St.), just s. on Springwell, then 1 mi. w. to 9400 W. Fort St. This cemetery, dating to 1869, contains ornate Victorian grave markers, mausoleums and tombs. Some notable individuals interred here include David Dunbar Buick, founder of Buick Motors; James Vernor Sr., Detroit florist, pharmacist and inventor of Vernor’s ginger ale; and Eugene Hamlet Krapp, an early 20th-century professional baseball player.
