Call of the Wild Museum is off I-75 exit 282, 3 blocks e., then 6 blocks s. to 850 S. Wisconsin Ave. More than 150 lifelike North American wild animals and game birds are featured in more than 60 displays, each with a hand-painted backdrop. Beavers, bobcats, coyotes, elk, moose and polar bears appear in re-created natural settings, many complete with sound effects. The Wildlife Theater shows short nature films. Also featured are two projected image presentations about Joseph Bailly, one of the first fur trappers who worked in Michigan in the early 19th century.

An interactive center encourages kids to learn through activity sheets and scavenger hunts.
