W. K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, part of Michigan State University's W.K. Kellogg Biological Station , is on SR 89, following signs to 12685 E. C Ave., between 40th St. and E. Gull Lake Dr. This experimental facility is a 180-acre area inhabited by birds of prey, wild ducks, geese, swans, pheasants and other upland species. The sanctuary has walking trails, a museum, observation deck and educational displays.
$5; $4 (senior citizens and college students with ID); $3 (ages 2-17).
Hours: Grounds open daily 9-7, May-Oct.; 9-5, rest of year. Resource center open Mon.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. 11-4, May-Oct.; Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat.-Sun. 11-4, Mar.-Apr. and Nov. 1-day before Thanksgiving. Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
