Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia is at 1010 Campus Dr., on the lower level of FLITE Library on the Ferris State University campus. The more than 9,000-item collection of everyday items, advertisements and print pieces traces the history of racism and stereotypes inflicted on African-Americans in America. Examples of subjects covered are who and what Jim Crow was, Jim Crow violence and contemporary racism. While the pieces are offensive, the purpose of the museum is to educate visitors about race relations.
Note: The museum is not recommended for children under age 12.
