Cranbrook Art Museum, part of Cranbrook Educational Community, is at 39221 Woodward Ave. (SR 1). Changing displays of modern and contemporary art as well as faculty and student artwork are the focus of the museum’s collection. Traveling exhibitions are featured throughout the year. Ninety-minute tours are available of the restored 1930 Art Deco Saarinen House, the home and studio of Eliel Saarinen, Cranbrook’s resident architect 1925-50, and his wife Loja, who was head of the Department of Weaving.
