Tibbits Opera House is at 14 S. Hanchett St. The theater opened in 1882 to house the many performers and theater companies that played Coldwater en route between Chicago and Detroit. Its excellent acoustics and intimate setting are still widely acclaimed.
The restored French-Victorian building presents a variety of concerts and art exhibitions. Theater tours are available by advance request. A professional summer stock series and a children’s series are offered June through August. Professional, community and youth productions are presented the rest of the year.
