AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Classification): Oh my! As I sip coffee on the sun porch overlooking the meticulously groomed grounds I cannot help but wonder if Mr. Ford ever pondered life here.
Built in 1931 by Henry Ford, this modern hotel's stunning lobby is a great example of Georgian-style architecture and opulence. Over the years, the hotel has expanded to multiple wings and buildings. Italian marble flooring, intricate wood moldings and plush furnishings highlight the lobby's decor. The lobby extends to a porch and then to a herb garden, which is just another unique feature to this already majestic property. Guest room sizes and configurations differ from wing to wing and building to building, but all are appointed with upscale décor. Luxurious bedding packages, polished wood furnishings and flat-panel televisions are featured in each room. Smoke free premises. 229 units, some two bedrooms and cottages. 2-4 stories, interior/exterior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Great location within 15 mins of most Detroit area attractions. The hotel also had a historic feel in tune with the surrounding city and quality on-site eating options with sufficient options. The hotel had classic decor and was quiet.
Cons: Issues with the room were water temperature. It took an unusually long time for the water to warm to wash your hands (and shower) and it never really got hot. It also took about 4 hours initially to warm the room temperature from 65 degrees to 70.

Pros: The location is great, just down the road from The Henry Ford. I liked the historic background of the hotel.
Cons: The neighbors bill was slipped under our door, they paid 40$ less a night!!! Boo! Felt like we were placed in the discount building, despite the premium price....

Pros: This hotel is staffed with above average employees. From the Porter to the waitresses to the cleanup lady. All were wonderful!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: I am 74 years old and my wife is 62. I don' t know why were given a room on the second floor of the hotel with no elevator. Because we were given a room below an air conditioner every time the compressor came on, you could feel a vibration coming thr
