Abrams Planetarium is on the Michigan State University campus at 755 Science Rd. The planetarium offers a variety of exhibits about astronomy and features a Digistar 5 projector. A highlight is the black-light gallery featuring astronomical paintings made with fluorescent paint, hung against black walls and lit with ultraviolet lights.
Exhibit hall free. Planetarium shows $4; $3.50 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $3 (ages 0-12).
Hours: Exhibit hall and black-light gallery open Mon.-Fri. 8:30-noon and 1-4:30, Sept.-July. Planetarium shows Fri.-Sat. at 8 p.m., Sun. at 4. A family show designed for preschool and early elementary students is offered Sun. at 2:30, Sept.-July. Ticket sales begin 30 minutes prior to show times.
