Longway Planetarium is part of the Flint Cultural Center at 1310 E. Kearsley St., across from Whiting Auditorium. Star shows are created from a state-of-the-art projector that reproduces the night sky on a newly renovated 60-foot dome. Family programs are offered throughout the year.
$6; $4 (ages 2-11 and 60+). Combination ticket with Sloan Museum and one planetarium show $14; $12 (ages 60+); $9 (ages 2-11).
Hours: Planetarium office Mon.-Fri. 9-5; planetarium closes during group tours, so phone for availability. Star shows daily at 2:30 and 3:30 (also Fri. at 7 and 8, Sat. at 1:30, 4:30, 7 and 8, Sun. at 1:30 and 4:30). Phone for programming schedule. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and Dec. 31. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
