Seney National Wildlife Refuge

Seney National Wildlife Refuge visitor center entrance is about 3 mi. n. on SR 77. More than 240 species of birds and many other species of wildlife inhabit the 95,238-acre refuge. The site has one of the state’s highest concentrations of nesting loons and is home to bald eagles, Canada geese, ospreys, sandhill cranes, wolves and more than 200 trumpeter swans. There are opportunities for biking, canoeing, fishing, hiking and hunting as well as skiing and snowshoeing in winter. A one-way 7-mile unpaved driving tour route also is available. An orientation film is shown at the visitor center.
