Pickle Barrel House Museum is at jct. Lake and Randolph sts. The house was built in 1926 for “The Teenie Weenies” comic strip creator, William Donahey. His characters also were used in Reid-Murdoch & Co. ads, one of which pictured a house that had been made from a sweet pickle keg.
Inside are Donahey’s drawing chair, paints and chalks as well as a small original stove and period antiques. His wife, Mary Dickerson Donahey, was an author and several of her books can be seen.
