Quincy Mine Hoist

Quincy Mine Hoist is 1 mi. n. on US 41. A guided tour takes visitors to the seventh level of the mine, about 360 feet below the surface. The mine houses what is believed to be the largest steam-powered hoist ever manufactured. Historical structures, which date from 1846 to 1920, house exhibits. Tours also feature a scenic ride on the Midwest's only operating cogwheel tram. Other tours are available.
