Kalamazoo Valley Museum is at 230 N. Rose St. on the Arcadia Commons Campus of the Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Permanent exhibits include a 2,500-year-old mummy and science and history galleries that house interactive exhibits, photographs and artifacts. Mini-missions simulate a trip to Mars in the Challenger Learning Center. A Digistar 4 planetarium and theater are included as well. Changing exhibits are presented three times per year.
Museum free. Planetarium $3; free (ages 0-2).
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 9-5 (also Fri. 5-9, Oct.-May), Sun. and holidays 1-5. Phone for program schedules. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
