Mackinac Island Carriage Tours departs from the center of the shopping district on Main St. Narrated 2-hour tours visit Mackinac Island’s scenic and historic points of interest. Stops include Surrey Hill Square Carriage Museum, Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory, Arch Rock and Fort Mackinac. The museum features more than a dozen historic carriages, and the butterfly conservatory houses several hundred butterflies. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
Guided carriage tour $28.50; $11 (ages 5-12). Combination ticket with butterfly conservatory (mid-May to early Oct.) $35.50; $14 (ages 5-12). Prices and schedules may vary; phone ahead. Additional fee for Fort Mackinac.
Hours: Guided carriage tours daily 9-5, mid-June through Labor Day; 9-3, early May to mid-June and day after Labor Day-Sept. 30; 9-2, in Oct. (weather permitting). Horse-drawn taxi service available by appointment year-round.
