Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse is just e. of the s. end of Mackinac Bridge on Huron St. This lighthouse resembling a castle was in operation 1890-1957. It is filled with various relics as well as such interactive exhibits as the Night Time Navigator, which allows guests to try guiding a ship using navigational aids. Costumed interpreters guide visitors up to the tower’s lantern room for views of the Mackinac Straits.

Note: The top of the tower is accessed via 51 steps and a vertical ladder through a narrow opening; climbers should not be barefoot or wearing flip-flops.
