The Crocker House Museum & Macomb County Historical Society is at 15 Union St. Joshua Dickinson, the first mayor of Mount Clemens, built this Italianate house in 1869; his daughter Katherine and her husband moved into it after their marriage the following year. The house showcases artifacts, including rotating exhibits, that depict local history, especially the period of prosperity between the late 1800s and the Great Depression that resulted after the discovery of mineral water wells. The historical society’s collections also are housed here. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.

Hours: Tues.-Thurs. 10-4, first Sun. of the month 1-4, Mar.-Dec. Also open for special events; phone for information. Closed major holidays. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
