AAA Editor Notes
Knowlton's Ice Museum of North America, 317 Grand River Ave., contains tools (axes, crushers, saws, picks, etc.), photos and vehicles from the ice industry era (early 1800s-early 1900s). Ice harvesting was once a major industry; once harvested, Americans could regularly expect a delivery of an ice block from their delivery man to their icebox.
A 14-minute video is shown, and there are interactive exhibits as well. The museum also includes a 300-piece doll collection.
Guided tours are available.
