AAA Editor Notes
Old Presque Isle Lighthouse Park and Museum stands on the northern arm of land enclosing the harbor. Built in 1840, the lighthouse was replaced in 1870 by the current lighthouse a mile north on the tip of the peninsula. The tower and 1905 keeper’s house are restored in the new lighthouse. A 3,425-pound bronze bell, larger than the Liberty Bell, is displayed in the old lighthouse. Both lighthouses offer exhibits.
