Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Museum, 735 Park St. at Mt. Baldhead Park, is housed in the historic pump house next to the Kalamazoo River. Each year this small museum features an exhibition related to local history. A large illustrated wall map with an interactive computer lets visitors access further historical information about the Saugatuck and Douglas area. Artifacts also are on display. The grounds include a garden with benches and interpretive signs relaying the history of the pump house and the river as well as information about local history, geography and wildlife. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
