Pros: The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful.
Cons: This hotel has seen better days. The area around it is full of vacant buildings and the lawns are not tended. Even in a nearby strip mall, there is a large, abandoned grocery store - moved about 150 yards to another location, but nevertheless empty and shuttered. With one exception ( a 'family friendly restaurant in the strip mall) all of the food offerings were fast food places. Doesn't engender trying the local businesses, and when I looked in the hotel's booklets for information on local eating, most of the places recommended were at some distance. During the week the hotel seems to be a stopping place for truckers - the breakfast room was filled with men in work clothes each morning - I was the only female there, and a younger woman might have been uncomfortable. That (use of the rooms) doesn't make it 'bad', but it does suggest (to me) that they need to fill their rooms by contracts with trucking/other companies.
