AAA Editor Notes
Eduardo Ruiz Park (Parque Eduardo Ruiz) has an entrance at the end of east-west Av. Independencia, about 8 blks. w. of the main plaza. This shady park along the banks of the Río Cupatitzio contains lush subtropical vegetation and fountains with dancing waters propelled by gravity alone; no pumps are used. Numerous footpaths wind along the riverbank.
The river rises at Devil's Knee (Rodilla del Diablo) spring, named—according to legend—for the spot where Lucifer left a kneeling imprint.
