Minnesota Discovery Center

Minnesota Discovery Center is 5 mi. s.w. on US 169 on the edge of the Glen Mine. The center preserves and interprets the history of Minnesota’s Iron Ranges. The explosive growth of iron mining attracted thousands of settlers to northeastern Minnesota, and their courage and tenacity helped transform a sparsely populated wilderness into a culturally diverse industrial landscape.

Visitors to the museum can explore permanent and changing exhibits, ride a vintage trolley to a former mining location and enjoy spectacular mine views. The Iron Range Research Center maintains a large library and genealogical archives. A miniature golf course also is on the premises.
